New design direction, SKYACTIV® refinement and diesel engine make the #MazdaCX5 all-new for 2017.https://t.co/TBTS74xjqb

Mazda truly tore out of the pit lane and rocketed to the finish with its 2016 CX-5 CUV, with an overall rating of 9.4/10 by Kelley Blue Book experts and enviable fuel economy of an EPA-estimated up to 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway for Sport front-wheel drive trim with manual transmission and up to 26 mpg city/33 mpg highway on automatic transmission models. But late 2017 promises to showcase another milestone for Mazda to surpass with its new CX-5: a SKYACTIV-D 2.2 turbocharged, clean-running diesel engine.
Some awesome insights spring to mind here: high rpm, monster torque. But perhaps the centerpiece will be a reduction in diesel knock owing to proprietary Natural Sound Smoother and Natural Sound Frequency Control technologies. And Mazda plans to complement the smooth ride with meeting strict emissions standards, keeping CX-5 as fuel-efficient as it will be an adrenalized thriller.
But there'll be a few more perks on top of the diesel powerhouse. G-Vectoring Control will synergize engine, steering, throttle and suspension, delivering subtle adjustments while maintaining precision response, and an upgraded SKYACTIV chassis will help diminish vibration and prevent floating when mounting rugged terrain.
