It's important to us as a dealership to make sure that vehicle owners like you know as much as possible about your vehicle, so today we'll be taking a look at gaskets; what are they and what do they do that is so important?
What is a Gasket?
A gasket is what creates a water-tight seal that cannot be penetrated to ensure that necessary fluids don't leak all underneath the hood or combine with other fluids while trying to get from point A to point B. A good example is the Head Gasket, which was made to contain engine compression and to prevent the combination of fuel, oil, and coolant.
There are multiple gaskets doing this important job throughout your vehicle. Having your gaskets checked regularly is critical; as time goes on they will begin to break down and leak, so the sooner they are seen and replaced, the better.
